We are pleased to share that the Keck School of Medicine of USC’s Kidney Research Center was recently named the Vito M. Campese, MD/UKRO Kidney Research Center of USC. Campese, the center’s new namesake, is an international leader in nephrology and a lifelong Trojan, having worked with USC for nearly 50 years.

Janos Peti-Peterdi, MD, PhD, the Center’s new director, brings the experience and ambition needed to build on the strong foundation laid by outgoing director Kenneth Hallows, MD, PhD. Dr. Peti-Peterdi is professor and acting vice chair of physiology and neuroscience and medicine at the Keck School. His research, focused on kidney and cardiovascular physiology and disease pathobiology, has received uninterrupted National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding for more than two decades.
