On the morning of June 2, faculty, staff and students from Keck Medicine of USC and the Keck School of Medicine of USC came together at Keck Medical Center for the health system’s annual flag-raising ceremony in honor of Pride Month. Earlier that day, USC Arcadia Hospital held its third annual flag-raising ceremony.
Keck Medicine speakers at the Keck Medical Center event included Shannon Bradley, MBA, chief health equity, inclusion and community officer, and Felipe Osorno, chief post-acute care officer and chief of staff. Osorno is also a co-executive sponsor for Keck Pride, Keck Medicine’s LGBTQ+ employee resource group (ERG), which hosted the event with support from the health system.
Since its inception, Keck Pride has overseen many campaigns designed to strengthen local communities and to share Keck Medicine’s equity and inclusion efforts — including the USC Gender-Affirming Care Program — to people throughout Southern California and beyond.
Additional Pride Month events will be held throughout the month to spread awareness, to celebrate LGBTQ+ members of the Keck Medicine community and to honor the health system’s commitment to treating all staff, patients and neighbors with compassion, dignity and respect.
