Jon Reuter has been named chief of operations for Keck Hospital of USC, administrators announced recently. He begins Oct. 11, according to a memo released by Marty Sargeant, interim CEO of Keck Medical Center of USC.
“With 15 years of health care operations and finance leadership experience, Jon brings tremendous talent to the position,” Sargeant wrote.
Reuter will hold executive responsibility for the administration and operation of hospital-based key clinical, ancillary and professional services serving Keck Hospital and specified Keck Medical Center entities. This will include: radiologic and nuclear medicine services; respiratory services; therapy and rehab services; neuro diagnostics and interventional pulmonology; Sleep Center; cardiovascular services; Transplant Institute Administration; and laboratory services including blood bank and the Blood Donor Center.
Additionally, Reuter will provide executive oversight for Keck Medicine support services. These will include: facilities management; coordination of emergency management; security, parking and valet services; food services and clinical nutrition; and environmental services. Also, Reuter will ensure that all Keck Hospital programs and services are in compliance with business policies as well as federal, state and local agency regulations.
Importantly, Reuter will partner with administrative and clinical leaders to foster and grow service excellence at both Keck Hospital and the medical center as a whole.

Prior to joining Keck Medicine, he served as vice president of supply chain, facilities and construction management for City of Hope in Duarte. Ther, Reuter was responsible for overseeing and managing the medical center’s capacity planning, construction, security, facilities engineering and finance and support services. Prior to City of Hope, Reuter served seven years with Cleveland Clinic in various leadership capacities and at various locations, including as administrator for medical operations for Cleveland Clinic’s new Abu Dhabi venture.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
