On June 6, USC Arcadia Hospital held its second annual flag-raising ceremony to commemorate Pride Month with more than 75 team members in attendance.
“We are proud to serve the LGBTQ+ community through patient-centered care, dedicated advocacy and fostering a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment,” said hospital President & CEO Ike Mmeje, MHSA. “We stand together in our firm belief that every individual has the right to be treated with respect, support and kindness.”
The hospital recently received the LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leader designation in the 2024 Healthcare Equality Index. The Human Rights Campaign sets more rigorous criteria and higher standards for hospitals to participate, and the hospital team stepped up to exceed those standards.
