A multidisciplinary team including researchers from three USC schools — Viterbi School of Engineering, Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences and the Keck School of Medicine of USC — in collaboration with MIT, Sabancı University in Turkey, and the LA County Department of Public Health has released a study determining whether smartphone mobility data could provide a way to measure people’s individually-experienced food environments.
The findings show that physical food environments available to people impact diets and — eventually — diet-related health outcomes.
