The USC Division of Biokenesiology and Physical Therapy will soon launch the Upper Extremity Athlete Physical Therapy Fellowship, which — among other widespread benefits — will give physical therapists the opportunity to develop relevant skills while working with the San Diego Padres. It will also give the USC division increased visibility among professional sports leagues while making it easier for Major League Baseball teams to hire more qualified team physicians.

The fellowship is undergoing accreditation by the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education. Accreditation will serve as an important imprimatur that the division is meeting and exceeding defined practice standards. It will also give fellows a respected stamp of approval among prospective employers.
