On Tuesday, four researchers from the Keck School of Medicine of USC were named senior members by the National Academy of Inventors (NAI), a nonprofit member organization that supports inventors in higher education. Andrew MacKay, PhD, of the USC Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, was also named.

The NAI bestowed the prestigious honor on a total of 11 honorees from across the university.

Election as an NAI senior member recognizes remarkable innovation in technologies that have brought, or aspire to bring, real impact on the welfare of society. The honor also represents growing success in patents, licensing and commercialization, while educating and mentoring the next generation of inventors.
