According to a working paper by the USC Leonard D. Schaeffer Center for Health Policy & Economics in collaboration with Brown University, a global rollout campaign encouraging COVID-19 vaccination saved 2.4 million lives in 141 countries. And it could have saved an additional 670,000 with more equitable distribution.
The working paper, shared by the National Bureau of Economic Research in late October, also valued the saved lives at $6.5 trillion — about 9% of the combined GDP of the 141 countries.
