Parking options will be expanding soon on the Health Sciences Campus as the Valley Lot will reopen for parking on June 14. Keck Medical Center of USC interim CEO Marty Sargeant announced the reopening in a June 7 memo.

“This is a momentous occasion for our Health Sciences Campus, as it will provide greater space, security and resources for our employees,” Sargeant wrote.

Beginning June 14, Valley Lot permit holders who have been parking at other locations must resume parking in the Valley Lot. Also, Lot 71 permit holders who have been parking in the Biggy Structure also should return to their designated parking location that day, the memo stated.

The Valley Lot, which will be open Monday through Friday from 3:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m., has been renovated and features more than 90 Chargepoint+ electric vehicle charging stations, expanded shuttle service, covered pickup and drop-off locations, and advanced safety measures including a secured perimeter gate and access control entry points for pedestrians and vehicles. A Keck Medicine security officer will be stationed at the Valley Lot between 6 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with security officers available to escort employees, faculty and visitors to parking lots throughout the Health Sciences Campus during evening and after hours.

The parking shuttles also soon will be upgraded with a Reveal GPS tracking feature, which will allow employees to view the location and progress status of the shuttles via mobile. That feature is expected to be available in July, according to the memo.

For weekend parking, request access to the Keck Hospital parking structure by emailing keckparkingservices@med.usc.edu and provide a 6-digit Keck ID badge number. For weekend access to the Biggy Structure, display any valid permit. Permit holders will need to vacate before 8 a.m. Monday mornings and return to their designated parking assignment.
