As a sponsor of the 2018 Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon, the Keck School of Medicine of USC provided more than 250 volunteer physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and physician assistant and medical students from throughout Keck Medicine of USC and Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center to offer medical services at the race.
Volunteers were stationed at medical tents throughout the 26.2 mile course, with the largest concentration of volunteers at the finish line.
“We are proud to give back to the Los Angeles community by ensuring the health of these marathon runners,” said Glenn Ault, MD, MSEd, professor of clinical surgery at the Keck School and medical director of the Los Angeles Marathon. “A marathon is a challenging feat for even accomplished runners, and our many volunteers were a positive force for participants at every stage of the race.”
