The Eli and Edythe Broad Center for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research at USC is highlighting graduates of the Master of Science Program in Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine. As the 41 master’s students in the Class of 2022 prepare for graduation, the faculty and staff of USC Stem Cell look forward to welcoming them into a vibrant, diverse and growing community of alumni. This week focuses on Clare Yarka, MS, who forged an unconventional path to a position at the innovative research organization Instil Bio.
Most people who have Clare Yarka’s job title — scientist at Instil Bio — also have a PhD. But Yarka entered the industry immediately after earning her master of science degree in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine from USC and never looked back. In September 2020, Yarka started her job at the cancer immunotherapy company, which is still in an early and exciting phase of its growth.
