Jonathan Sum, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, is now one of only 12 physical therapists in the nation to carry the honor.

The American Society of Shoulder and Elbow Therapists (ASSET) selected him for his work to optimize clinical care and outcomes-oriented research in shoulder rehabilitation.

The rare achievement is tied to Sum’s unrelenting, decades-old personal mission — which began when suboptimal treatment for a torn ACL derailed his baseball career — to provide patients with the best available treatment methods, while passing these techniques to the next generation of physical therapists.
