Director of USC’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program Julie Tilson, PT, DPT, MS, is set to be named USC’s 11th Catherine Worthingham Fellow by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the association’s highest membership category. The honor, which is the association’s highest membership category, is bestowed upon physical therapists who have demonstrated unwavering efforts to advance the profession for more than 15 years.

Tilson is the 11th Catherine Worthingham Fellow from USC, giving the division the highest concentration of fellows at any physical therapy educational institution in the nation.

The APTA has also given recent fellowship graduate, Joseph Derian, PT, DPT, OCS a 2023 Outstanding Physical Therapist Fellowship Award. He was the first fellow in USC’s newly accredited spine physical therapy fellowship, a 12-month clinical program that develops a clinician’s expertise as a primary care provider in the diagnosis and management of spinal disorders.
