The National Science Foundation will fund new research from the Keck School of Medicine of USC and the University of California, Irvine that seeks to combine regenerative medicine and brain-computer interfaces to restore key brain functions — including movement, sight and speech — to patients who have brain damage from a stroke, spinal cord injury or other neurological problems.
