On Tuesday, Dec. 6, USC President Carol L. Folt, PhD, hosted an all-staff holiday reception on the Broad Lawn at the Health Sciences Campus.
Staff members from the Health Sciences Campus and Alhambra campus enjoyed breakfast while Folt greeted them at their tables, wished them happy holidays and thanked them for their dedicated work. Many staff members posed for pictures with Folt.
The reception was the first joint holiday event with staff from Keck Medicine of USC, the Keck School of Medicine of USC, the USC School of Pharmacy, the USC Mrs. T.H. Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy and the USC Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy.
Senior leaders from these programs and the university were also present, including Steven Shapiro, MD, senior vice president for health affairs at USC, and Carolyn Meltzer, MD, dean of the Keck School.
The holiday breakfast returned from a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to breakfast, the reception offered a holiday-themed photo booth, a toy drive, a cookie decorating booth and a candy bar where staff members could prepare treats for a festive holiday.
Staff members could also choose to write letters as part of a campaign to bring holiday cheer to veterans, active-duty military and first responders.
In keeping with Folt’s vision and dedicated plan for environmental sustainability at USC, the event featured a Zero Waste Sort Station for recycling disposal.
