Jeffrey Klausner, MD, MPH, a clinical professor of population and public health sciences at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, has conducted research in southern Africa since 2009 with a focus on sexually transmitted diseases.

His current research — focused in South Africa and Botswana — aims to resolve inequities experienced in rural communities and to augment the health infrastructure through faster diagnostics, new methods to prevent antibiotic resistance and effective training of health care providers throughout the region.
