Krist Azizian, PharmD, MHA, has been named chief pharmacy officer for the Keck Medicine of USC health system. Azizian assumes this role immediately and will continue to serve as chief pharmacy officer for Keck Medical Center of USC.
He will also transition from his position as chief regional oncology officer for USC Care and Ambulatory Services, but serve in the role as interim, pending a search and recruitment of his replacement.
The announcement was made June 29 by Keck Medicine CEO Rod Hanners.
In his new, expanded role, Azizian will be responsible for oversight of all pharmacy operations across the health system, including the Keck Medicine Specialty Pharmacy. He will also serve as executive director of health systems for the USC Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
As chief pharmacy officer at Keck Medical Center, Azizian implemented various pharmacy quality initiatives and programs, while also expanding pharmacy services across the Keck Medicine enterprise to better serve the organizational expansion of oncology services.
In addition to this position, he assumed responsibility of regional oncology operations in 2019, playing a vital role in shaping Keck Medicine’s presence in surrounding communities and helping to launch expanded oncology services in regions such as Arcadia, Orange County, Santa Clarita, Koreatown and Buena Park.
“Krist’s passion to improve the lives of our patients and caregivers is undeniable,” Hanners said. “We are confident that his ingenuity, compassion and generosity of heart will lead the health system to even greater successes.”
Prior to joining Keck Medicine, Krist held the position of director of pharmacy services at Providence Tarzana Medical Center. When not in the office, he enjoys going to the beach and spending time with his family.
