A Keck School of Medicine of USC professor was awarded an inaugural anthropology award by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) on Feb. 17.
Erik Seiffert, PhD, professor of clinical integrative anatomical sciences, was awarded the Robert W. Sussman Award for “his prolific and insightful contributions to our understanding of primate evolution.”
The new award recognizes mid-career anthropologists, defined as about 10 to 20 years post doctorate degree. It was established last year at the 2017 AAAS Annual Meeting to honor Bob Sussman, a leading scholar on the evolution of human and primate behavior.
