Keck Medicine of USC has acquired the LA Cancer Center, a practice offering hematology and oncology services in Koreatown.
Sang-Hoon Ahn, MD, MPH, has joined Keck School of Medicine of USC as clinical associate professor of medicine (practitioner); Clan Hahn, MD, as clinical assistant professor of medicine (practitioner); and Han Joo Kim, MD, as clinical assistant professor of radiation oncology (practitioner).
“We are proud that our new university-based practice will be able to serve this largely Korean-speaking population,” said Shawn Sheffield, chief strategy officer at Keck Medicine of USC. “This is an important step for expansion of our oncology services that will benefit patients throughout our service area.”
The medical oncology physicians will be seeing their patients temporarily at USC Norris Cancer Hospital through September while their offices are being upgraded and renovated. The radiation oncology office in Koreatown and medical oncology office in Buena Park will not be moving. Patients who are normally seen at the Koreatown location will receive free, round-trip transportation to USC Norris Cancer Hospital in a private van, if needed.
