The American Heart Association (AHA) has recognized Keck Hospital of USC for its commitment to quality heart failure care by bestowing upon the organization its 2019 Get With The Guidelines – Heart Failure Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award.

The award recognizes the hospital’s commitment to ensuring heart failure patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines founded in the latest scientific evidence. Keck Hospital earned the award by meeting specific quality achievement measures for the diagnosis and treatment of heart failure patients at a set level for a designated period. These measures include evaluation of the proper use of medications and aggressive risk-reduction therapies.

The award was presented during a recognition ceremony held Sept. 18 at Keck Hospital. Present were the cardiology heart failure team, hospitalists team, nursing leadership, nursing practitioners in heart failure, pharmacy team, the Quality and Outcomes Department, data informatics team and Stephanie Hall, MD, chief medical officer of Keck Hospital of USC and USC Norris Cancer Hospital.
