Keck Hospital of USC is being recognized for its exceptional cardiac care with a 2019 Healthgrades excellence award for percutaneous coronary intervention. According to Healthgrades, the hospital ranks among the top 10 percent in the nation for the procedure, which involves placing a stent in blood vessels that have narrowed due to plaque buildup. Healthgrades independently analyzed more than 4,500 health care organizations to identify top-performing hospitals based on three years of Medicare patient data.
The Healthgrades award adds to recent recognition for the world-class cardiac care at Keck Medicine of USC. In August, U.S. News and World Report ranked Keck Medical Center of USC No. 45 in the country for cardiology and heart surgery.
