Each year, graduating students of the Keck School of Medicine of USC vote for an educator to receive the Kaiser Permanente Excellence in Teaching Award for Basic Science Years. This year Joe Hacia, PhD, was selected for the award, which is the highest honor the Keck School bestows on basic science educators in the field of medicine.
