Longtime community outreach services providers and stakeholders have been convened by HSC Community Partnerships in Civic Engagement at HSC to meet regularly and exchange ideas, discuss best practices and form collaborations.
Represented are the School of Pharmacy, Keck Medicine of USC, USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, USC Civic Engagement and Physical Therapy. Collectively, they deliver programs, services and capacity building expertise to the neighborhoods around HSC. Other activities include contributing to education, providing health advice and health care, improving neighborhood and community environments, promoting safety and economic stability, encouraging civic engagement and mentoring youth.
HSC Community Partnerships also reaches out to USC researchers and clinical providers with an interest in community engagement to encourage coordination and collaboration in community outreach and partnerships, as well as supporting their research, said Zul Surani, executive director of the HSC Community Partnerships Office in Civic Engagement.
