A new extended-stay, select-service, 200-room hotel located on the north side of the Health Sciences Campus has opened, offering a new option for Keck Medicine of USC patients and their families. Hyatt House, a Hyatt extended-stay property, is available to provide a nearby place for patients and their families to stay when needed.

In designing the hotel and its services, the goal was to make guests feel as much like residents as possible while receiving needed care — or having a family member who is receiving care — at the Health Sciences Campus. This expands the number of hotel options available near the medical center for patients and their guests who are coming from a distance, have transportation challenges or have a follow-up visit the next day.

Reservations are open and guests will be able to stay for virtually any length of time, ranging from a single night to more than 30 nights.

Located within walking distance of campus facilities and across the street from the nearest shuttle stop, Hyatt House will offer patients and families three different kinds of rooms to choose from according to whether they will be staying short- or long-term. On-site parking and pet-friendly accommodations will each be available for an additional fee.

The hotel also will offer amenities such as complimentary WiFi and streaming services, a complimentary hot breakfast buffet, laundry facilities, a fitness center, a heated pool and spa, outdoor social spaces, barbecue grills and fire pits.

“In the Department of Surgery, we see every day how much close contact and personal support can help a patient’s recovery,” said Vaughn Starnes, MD, director of the USC CardioVascular Institute, and the surgeon-in-chief at Keck Hospital of USC and USC Norris Cancer Hospital. “A welcoming home away from home that’s within walking distance of the hospital will be a tremendous benefit to recovering patients and their loved ones.”

The hotel is located at:

2200 E. Trojan Way
Los Angeles, CA 90033
