As the search for better treatments for Alzheimer’s disease continues, some scientists have begun exploring new ways of thinking about the condition in the hope of finding new, more promising ways to prevent and treat it.

One such researcher is Hussein Yassine, MD, an associate professor of medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of USC and an endocrinologist at Keck Medicine of USC who treats patients with diabetes and lipid disorders. Now, he is studying the role that lipids and the genetics that influence them may play in brain health.
