Inflammation is a normal part of the immune system’s response to infection and injury, but too much inflammation in the body can lead to organ damage and other serious health problems.
A hyperinflammatory response triggered by COVID-19 can linger for some patients after the infection passes, which has led the Keck Medicine researchers to suspect that reducing inflammation through nutrition could prove beneficial.
