Keck Medicine of USC has named David Peng, MD, MPH, as president of USC Care Medical Group (USC Care), a faculty practice plan composed of Keck Medicine physicians at hospital clinics and ambulatory locations. Peng, who is chair and professor of the Department of Dermatology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, will serve in this role until June 30, 2021, effective immediately. In this role, Peng will work to promote patient care, teaching and research objectives that will elevate Keck Medicine’s reputable physician practice.

Peng is a recognized thought leader in skin cancer, severe cutaneous drug reactions and is an expert in complex and life-threatening skin diseases. He has lectured broadly and helped shape national best practices in the treatment of the hospitalized dermatology patient. Peng also is a national leader in the field of telemedicine and helped bring virtual care to the Keck Medicine community.

Peng joined the Keck School’s faculty in 2013, after serving at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he served as associate professor and director of the Department of Dermatology’s residency training program, director of the medical dermatology program and director of the allergic contact dermatitis program in the Department of Dermatology.

Peng received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and medical degree from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He completed his internship at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he also earned a master of public health degree before returning to UCSD for his residency in dermatology.
