The American Thoracic Society recently recognized Zea Borok, MD, professor of medicine and biochemistry and molecular biology and chief of the division of pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine, with its Recognition Award for Scientific Accomplishments.
The award, which honors researchers who have made significant scientific contributions throughout their careers, specifically cited her her work in the field of alveolar epithelial cell biology and plasticity, epithelial-mesenchymal cell transition and stem cell niches in health and disease.
