On March 30, Thomas Gellhaus, MD, led an obstetrics and gynecology grand rounds stressing that caring for patients does not end in the exam room or the surgical suite. Gellhaus, an obstetrician gynecologist at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, is immediate past president of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).

He urged that every OB/GYN, resident, fellow, faculty and practitioner should be an advocate for women’s health by learning more about their legislative and elected officials, search active legislation and find opportunities to take action. More information about this is available at acog.org/advocacy.
