Elizabeth June Yerxa, EdD, OTR, Distinguished Professor Emeritus with the University of Southern California’s Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, died on Dec. 18, 2024. She was 94.

The USC alumna was a former chair of the occupational therapy division and, most notably, founder of the research discipline of occupational science.

Yerxa was a remarkable woman: an internationally renowned scholar, an accomplished researcher, a revered teacher and a wise, caring and supportive friend.
