The Southern California wildfires have found residents showing up in droves to assist those who have lost everything, and the people at Keck Medicine of USC have proven to be no different.

In response to multiple inquiries from Keck Medicine staff regarding how they can help their colleagues, Care for the Caregiver has announced that emergency funds will be allocated for those hardest hit by the ongoing fires. Those who wish to donate can click here.

The employee support program has completed an essential items drive. Staff in need may pick up food, clothing, batteries and more at any of the following locations:

  • Keck Medical Center, Building 3, lower level
  • USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, 4th floor, gift shop storage room
  • USC Arcadia Hospital, classroom 5

For anyone needing further assistance, Care for the Caregiver has created a hotline. Employees are invited to call the phone number distributed via email on Jan. 9, or to email CarefortheCaregiver@med.usc.edu for:

  • Emotional support
  • Emergency housing
  • Transportation needs
  • Financial assistance
  • Information on other resources

Care for the Caregiver has also published a webpage for resources on housing, food and financial support, legal assistance and more, available here. (Keck Medicine sign-on required.)
