Jeannine Taylor,  deputy general counsel for Keck Medicine of USC, was named corporate counsel of the year in the non-profit/government/municipal category by the Los Angeles Business Journal at the publication’s recent 2024 Corporate Counsel Awards.

The publication annually recognizes the achievements of corporate counsels throughout various industries in the Los Angeles area. This year marks Taylor’s second nomination for the award. In 2023, she was a finalist in the same category.

Taylor has been with Keck Medicine since 2009, where she manages USC’s health sciences legal team and serves as lead counsel for the health system. She provides strategic legal counsel on corporate acquisitions, high-stakes healthcare projects, and governance for all Keck Medicine of USC-affiliated entities, supporting the health system’s growth and impact across the region.

One of her proudest professional achievements was managing the affiliation with USC Arcadia Hospital, a key milestone in increasing access to care for the San Gabriel Valley community. She also played a pivotal role in the creation of USC’s health system board, ensuring Keck’s continued commitment to healthcare excellence.

Taylor is also a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion. She is a founding member of Keck Medicine’s Diversity & Inclusion Executive Steering Committee and actively mentors the next generation of lawyers and healthcare leaders.

Her dedication to mentorship and service is reflected in her recent election to the Chancery Club of Los Angeles, composed of distinguished lawyers who are also active in professional, civic and philanthropic organizations. She is also the immediate past president of the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles (WLALA), one of the largest women’s bar associations.

Los Angeles Business Journal has been covering the Los Angeles business community for more than 40 years. The Corporate Counsel awards is one of many events the publication sponsors each year.
