Shawn Sheffield, MBA, MHSA, chief strategy officer for Keck Medicine of USC, has been named one of 65 “incredible health system chief strategy officer[s] you should know in 2023” by the Becker’s Healthcare publication, Becker’s Hospital Review.
In a statement, Becker’s said, “Chief strategy officers are a guiding light for their health systems, crafting short and long-term strategic plans that drive forward momentum. Chief strategy officers ensure that organizations grow in accordance with their vision and mission.”
Since joining Keck Medicine in 2012, Sheffield has successfully led the health system’s clinical growth, health system marketing and communications, and business development. She also oversees health care mergers and acquisitions, capital and venture planning, clinical integration, physician alignment strategies and expanding patients’ access to Keck Medicine throughout Southern California and Las Vegas.
In 2019, Sheffield was named Woman of the Year by the Women in Health Administration of Southern California and was the Los Angeles chair of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women in 2019-2020. She also serves as the executive sponsor for the Women’s Initiative Network, a Keck Medicine employee resource group.
