The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded the four-year grant to fund a new study led by Zhipeng Lu, PhD, of the Zhipeng Lu Lab, part of the USC Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The project, titled, “Decoding Global RNP Topologies in Splicing Regulation,” will support the lab’s ongoing mission to develop and apply novel technologies related to the roles that RNA plays in basic cellular processes. Lu hopes that eventually the research conducted in his lab will advance RNA’s capabilities to treat human diseases, including genetic disorders, cancers and viral infections.
