Air pollution can wreak havoc on the respiratory systems of healthy people, so it’s to be expected that it would have an even more damaging effect on people with COVID-19. A recent study by the Keck School of Medicine of USC investigated the seriousness of the problem and found startling percentage increases in hospitalization and long-term impact from COVID-19 infection among those who live in high-pollution areas.
