The Keck School of Medicine of USC’s Department of Emergency Medicine recently hosted the first All LA Emergency Resident lecture series of the year.
The series, which is held three times each year, unites emergency medicine residents from across Los Angeles County and parts of Orange County to examine cutting-edge emergency medicine topics.
Participants join discussions led by emergency medicine leaders from each institution.
The Feb. 6 conference included a keynote from Michael Weinstock, MD, a clinical associate professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and author of The Resident’s Guide to Ambulatory Care.
The conference focused on critical care as an important part of an emergency resident’s training.
Other lectures featured Keck School faculty members Sanjay Arora, MD, and Mike Levine, MD; Tim Horeczko, MD, from Olive View-UCLA Medical Center; and Matt Waxman, MD, from Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Programs represented at the conference included LAC+USC Medical Center, Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, Loma Linda University Medical Center, Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, Olive View-UCLA Medical Center and the UC Irvine School of Medicine. The lecture series is currently in its 12th year.
