In honor of National CPR Week, the Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services Agency offered a countywide CPR training program to the greater Los Angeles Area.

On June 4, the LAC+USC Medical Center Emergency Department and the Keck School of Medicine Department of Emergency Medicine together offered Hands-Only CPR training on the hospital grounds free of charge. The program, called Sidewalk CPR, trained 1,043 members of the community.

More than 50 Department of Emergency Medicine volunteers, including nurses, doctors, physician assistants and EMTs, provided CPR instruction in several languages and supervised as participants practiced.
