Nine Keck School of Medicine of USC faculty members were recently named to the annual Clarivate (formerly Thomson Reuters) list of highly cited researchers, recognizing them as among the leading researchers in the world.

To make the list, researchers must have authored the top 1 percent of articles that are cited most frequently for their field over the past decade. (The 2018 list is based on citations between 2006 and 2016.) Keck School faculty and researchers named to the list, noted with their primary research field or fields, are:

Paul Aisen, MD, neuroscience and behavior

Christopher Haiman, ScD, preventive medicine and cancer research

Steve Kay, PhD, plant and animal science

Huaiyu Mi, PhD, biology and biochemistry

Raymond Stevens, PhD, biology, biochemistry, pharmacology and toxicology

Paul Thomas, PhD, biology and biochemistry

Paul Thompson, PhD, neuroscience and behavior

Anna H. Wu, PhD, preventive medicine

David J. Van Den Berg, PhD, preventive medicine

Berislav Zlokovic , MD, PhD, neuroscience and behavior

Also included in the USC list is the late Brian Henderson, MD, former dean of the Keck School of Medicine, and Jonathan Samet, MD, MS, who is now dean of the Colorado School of Public Health.
