Keck Medicine of USC has appointed James Uli, MHA, as chief financial officer, effective Feb. 12. Uli will lead and build Keck Medicine’s financial organization while supporting the academic and research mission of the Keck School of Medicine of USC.

Prior to joining Keck Medicine, Uli was the chief financial officer of Providence Saint John’s Health Center and John Wayne Cancer Institute in Santa Monica. He also held leadership positions at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda.

“James’ experience in financial and operational oversight at large medical centers, along with his extensive market knowledge and patient-centered focus, makes him the ideal person to lead our financial team into the future,” said Thomas Jackiewicz, MPH, senior vice president and CEO of Keck Medicine of USC.

Supporting the expansion of Keck Medicine will be an integral part of Uli’s role. He joins Keck Medicine during a period of unprecedented growth, with increasing revenues and patient volume and the opening of a new state-of-the-art outpatient facility.

“Keck Medicine of USC is an academic medical center that is clearly on an upward trajectory,” Uli said. “There’s a tremendous opportunity to continue to grow, build and mold it into one of the greatest academic medical centers in the country.”

Uli, who earned a master of health administration degree from USC and a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of California, Riverside, will be responsible for developing and directing Keck Medicine’s strategic business plans, financial reporting, budgeting, funds flow, revenue cycle and physician plans.

“I am honored to represent, support and serve such an exceptional organization during such a dynamic time,” Uli said.
