Becker’s Hospital Review has named Jeana Rettig, chief marketing and communications officer for Keck Medicine of USC, one of “60 hospital and health system chief marketing officers to know” for 2023.

In a statement, Becker’s said, “These bold strategic leaders drive the planning and execution of marketing and communications initiatives for their organizations. Chief marketing officers are tasked with positioning their hospitals and health systems as leaders within the market via brand development, data-backed marketing efforts, and customer relationship management.”

Since joining the health system in 2013, Rettig has grown a small communications team into a dynamic department of 50 creatives, strategists and analysts, plus representatives who coordinate projects and relationships throughout the health system and with referring physicians and the surrounding community.

When the COVID-19 pandemic surged in Southern California, Rettig co-led the development of a consortium made up of Keck Medicine, UCLA Health, Cedars Sinai, Providence and Dignity Health to champion two multichannel campaigns.

Rettig is a member of the American Marketing Association for Physician Liaisons.

Becker’s Hospital Review is a leading provider of up-to-date news and analysis to leaders and decision-makers at hospitals and other health systems across the nation. Their annual rankings are compiled via nominations from peers of the honorees. Organizations do not and cannot pay for inclusion.
