More than 560 Keck Medicine of USC employees participated in the American Heart Association’s 2017 Los Angeles Heart Walk, held Sept. 23 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

Keck Medicine, a sponsor of the annual 5K walk, encouraged physicians and staff to participate in its efforts to help the American Heart Association fund research and education that will save and improve the lives of those battling cardiovascular diseases.

The Heart Walk is the association’s premier event for raising funds and heart disease and stroke survivors are an important part of the heart walks — with a special 1-mile survivor route offered to them. Keck Medicine receives more than $2 million in funding for research annually from the American Heart Association.
