Charles W. Flowers, Jr., MD, of the USC Roski Eye Institute, is recognized as one of the United States’ top eye surgeons. He specializes in laser vision correction, particularly laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK), and shares his knowledge with the next generation of eye specialists as the resident program director for clinical ophthalmology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC.

In addition to his work for Keck Medicine of USC and the Keck School, Flowers has spent over a decade helping the people of Guam by saving their vision — one patient at a time. His first mission, which began in 2010, was to help build a LASIK center at Guam’s Island Eye Institute. Since then, he has personally performed more than 600 surgeries at the center.

Now, Flowers is expanding telehealth services for the island so he and his colleagues can diagnose patients from the doctors’ Los Angeles location.
