Keck Medicine of USC faculty physician Marc Weigensberg, MD, has been awarded a $3.4 million NIH grant to study the role of guided imagery in improving youth behaviors and health.

The study will be conducted in collaboration with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and the Rotary Club, and will focus on the effects of guided imagery on obese Latino adolescents.

Weigensberg, associate professor of clinical pediatrics at the Keck School, will be honored March 19 for his commitment to improving health for youth at a luncheon hosted by SOSMentor, a local youth education organization that is the non-profit arm of the Rotary Club. Other honorees include John Deasy, superintendent of the LA Unified School District and Tal Shoshan, CEO of Five Star Gourmet Foods.
