With Oct. 1 marking the start of the 2019 flu season, USC has implemented several initiatives to help staff, faculty and students protect themselves during this time of heightened flu susceptibility.

First, Keck Medicine of USC is providing a daily mobile flu vaccination cart at its Keck Hospital of USC, USC Norris Cancer Hospital and USC Verdugo Hills Hospital locations.  Additionally, USC Pharmacies and USC Health Plans are offering free flu vaccines at most onsite health screening events from now until Nov. 15.

These moves support USC’s greater vision of supporting faculty and staff on their journey to better health. This year, the university collaborated with a new wellness partner, HealthFitness, to guide individuals to resources for improved physical and mental wellbeing. The new platform works in conjunction with the university’s health screenings incentive program. By registering with HealthFitness and completing the online questionnaire as well as the in-person health screening within the program year, individuals will receive up to $40 per month reduction in paycheck contributions for their medical plan in 2020.
