The International Menopausal Society recently honored Frank Z. Stanczyk, PhD, professor of research in the Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Preventive Medicine for his contributions to the field of menopause science.
The society presented Stanczyk with the Henry Burger Prize at the 14th World Congress on Menopause in Cancun, Mexico, on May 1. The prize recognized Stanczyk’sresearch on treatment of postmenopausal women with topical progesterone creams and gels; the role of adrenal androgens in the menopausal transition; measurement of estrogens and androgens in breast tumor adipocytes; effect of age and BMI on circulating estrogen levels in postmenopausal women receiving hormone therapy.
